Designing a Life That Reflects Who I Am
]It’s been a few months since I sat outside that café in the East Village, marveling at the unfolding of my life. The journey hasn’t slowed down; if anything, it’s accelerated. With each step forward, I feel a deeper connection to myself and the vision of the life I’m building—one rooted in creativity, culture, and authenticity.
I’ve come to see that designing a life is not so different from designing a space. Both require intention, imagination, and the courage to make bold choices.
Creating the Blueprint
Every great design starts with a blueprint—a vision of what could be. For me, that blueprint began taking shape when I allowed myself to dream unapologetically. I pictured a life filled with beauty, adventure, and meaningful connections. But translating that dream into reality meant I had to confront the parts of me that were still clinging to the safety of the familiar.
I asked myself:
What do I truly value?
What does success look like for me, beyond society’s expectations?
What kind of energy do I want to bring into my spaces, my relationships, my work?
The answers didn’t come all at once, but each step brought clarity. I started prioritizing experiences that felt aligned with my values, like exploring artisan markets, collaborating with other creatives, and curating moments that brought people together.
Designing with Intention
As a designer, I know the power of intention. It’s not just about filling a space; it’s about infusing it with purpose. The same is true for life. I’ve been learning to say no to opportunities that don’t align with my vision, even if they seem exciting at first glance.
This intentionality has opened doors I never expected. Projects that resonate with my values, friendships that inspire me, and experiences that feel deeply fulfilling. I’m no longer afraid to take up space in the world—not just as a designer, but as a person with a unique perspective to share.
The Journey Ahead
There’s still so much to explore, but I’m learning to enjoy the process. Each decision, each experience, each relationship feels like another layer in the tapestry of my life. And just like a well-designed space, it’s the layers—the textures, colors, and details—that make it truly special.
As I move forward, I’m reminded that life is not a finished product. It’s a work in progress, and that’s where its beauty lies.
